In terms of learning to read and early literacy resources, I also wanted to point you to Bob Books (Scholastic’s award-winning beginning reading series) and their blog focused on reading theory, reading activities and early literacy: http://bobbooks.com/blog

This is a very helpful blog. I’ve always wanted to know, not only how to start widgets and blogs, but also how to incorporate this technology into the classroom. This gave great information on where to start!
Also another helpful site on emergent literacy is http://www.starfall.com. They give great activities, strategies, and games.
